Good roads (even tho just hardcore it means good progress) , heading for Hughenden, spent night at Porcupine gorge, it's very 'green 'place no fires or rubbish to be left, toilets are hybrid, whatever that means, not that we leave anything anyway, but we do like a fire at night, set ourselves up …kangaroos are around and some small quokka type animals hopping around us, lovely really to see how unafraid of us they are, settle down for the night and these little quokka types are right up to us. As we came thru today saw a lot of wedge tail eagles, mainly circling over the roads , they are very large birds, circling around above road kills, also a large number of pink and grey galahs, hawks and kites plus parakeets by the hundred, bush turkey, a rather rare bird, we have seen quite a few of , Emus in large groups, it's the best wildlife day we have had and rather special….onwards to Hughenden and then to Mnt Garnet, a pub Geoff knew from the past…what a change of scenery…everything has started to go uphill and is be coming greener, ( we have been travelling over flat plains, beef and sheep country, now its starting to turn to dairy, we are on our way to Cairns, next stop Mnt Garnet for a steak sandwich/salad chips and beer, that filled us up and off to Cairns, and the Coconut Grove caravan park, not cheap, but suits our purpose, already found a good Land Rover guy and Alf's found a for his Toyota, struggling with the internet/wifi connections, it,s a real pain…we are getting there
