I spent a wonderful couple of days in a Bolivian utopia chilling out on a hammock, admiring the stunning mountain scenery, drinking plenty of cervezas and basically being spoilt rotten by my beautiful wife. Magnifico! The Inca Trail was amazing. We were treated like royalty -18 porters and guides for 8 of us, running past us up the slopes with 25kg on their backs to set up the dining tent before we arrived. Well after 3 hotels in 12 hours we have finally arrived where we're supposed to be in Lima. THis wasn't due to our lack of Spanish but the disorganisation of our tour company. However the peruvians have remained extremely patient and helpful despite our blood boiling! Probably because they are used to dealing with such cock'ups. Greetings All! Yes, we've been left alone without a guide and some pretty dodgy Spanish, yet we have managed to get where we want and do what we want.......so far. So at this moment in time we're on the pacific coast of Ecuador in a surfer's hangout called Montanita.....walking around I'm pretty tempted to put my hair in dreads, say narly quite a bit and get a hemp tattoo....but Ruth isn't too keen on the idea....she prefers my clean cut, boy next door image.......
