The Bowman Adventures
Another exciting week with Bungle!!! Fortunately we've only had our trip to the glacier dampened by bad weather - we weren't impressed with the equipment when 40 mins into a 6 hr excursion the waterproofs failed and boots started leaking but at least the sandwiches weren't soggy ...!! It definitely wd have been far more impressive in the sun but it rains there 270 days a year so we weren't too unlucky apparently!!
The scenery is still stunning us and each journey is broken by at least 5 stops for photos so there'll be plenty more to view on return (especially for the Shovlins). For those who want a real treat Ed may well reward you with a viewing of his skydive DVD (if it's not worn out -he viewed it himself 5 times yesterday) It's worth it to see his new variety of facial expressions frefalling at 200km/hr!!
Having blown the weeks budget in 2 days - a skydive and luxury lakeside view apartment in Wanaka, we're back to B & B'ing (Backpacker and burger joints) in Queenstown. This is a shame because there is so much on offer here to make it a classy stay. Great bars/restaurants and loads of activities. After 5hrs we decided we'd definitely like to spend a year here -but having spent 8 pounds on a cocktail in an ice bar we're limiting it to a night.
Only a week left in NZ and plenty still to see -the most important being finding a suitable venue for ENglands first match (at 1am over here). All postmatch analysis appreciated on the message board.
Off to learn some Spanish for the next leg...........
