The Bowman Adventures
We've made it to Chile without the help of a tour company! We have spent 3 days touring the Salt flats (the largest in the world) at Uyuni, in Bolivia. Fantastic scenery but mainly viewed whilst shaken about inside a battered old jeep travelling off rd at 20 km/hr for 6 hrs a day. The high altitude meant freezing conditions - it was difficult to sleep even with thermals, fleeces, hats gloves 2 blankets and a sleeping bag. Having dropped 1500m into a touristy town in Chile we're spending 3 days enjoying fabulous food, a warmer climate and our own jovial company. This is at an expense now we've rid the dorm for our own bedroom! There are a few stylish chileans around making us desperate to part with our fleeces and hiking pants but alas we'll have to wait for a few more weeks. Flying to Santiago on Tues for a few nights of cosmopolitan action and wine tasting. May even hit a nightclub if they allow in north face rather than armani. ........watch this space. Next postcard - Rio. xxxxxx
