Today we started our adventure by flying to Athens from the UK. The flight started a bit jerkily, with some heavy turbulance, but soon levelled off for a trouble free 4 hour flight. Once we had arrived in Athens airport it was a swift 1 hour metro trip to our hostel, where luckely we were upgraded to a near-by hotel, which was a nice way to start our trip. The hostle itself is pretty crap with an inhospitable reception man and poor hygeine, but its ok for us because we get a nice hotel room just round the corner, as i type this there is someone being alicated to the spare bed in our room. we went to see the pathanon(sp) today, its pretty amazing but covered in scaffolding atm which kind of takes away from its spleder. we have eaten some nice food but spent too much money on it as we couldnt shop for grossaries, we had to eat in cafes.
