Sorry the blog is so out of date; doing our best to catch up! So, arrived in HoiAn, had a well nice hotel, with a pool (woo)! We spent the first day exploring and having a look round the shops. There are over 300 tailors, and whilst it was tempting to get some clothes made, it was too hot for either of us to start shopping for suits. The next day we rented bikes with some of the group, and cycled 4km to the beach. It was such a nice beach, so nice in fact, that we forgot to put enough suncream on, and alas all burned. Badly. We all looked pretty ridiculous to be honest and had to spend the next 2 days covered up and applying Aloe Vera. Silly.

Next stop, Whale Island. We endured a 12 hour bus journey (was supposed to be 10) to get to this island. We arrived and were allocated beach huts. Ours was at the back and had 4 single beds (2 of which were made up, but not next to each other) and a massive hairy spider in the "bathroom". I complained (obviously) and we got upgraded to a hut right on the beach (spider free). Awesome.

Because we arrived late in the evening we couldn't see much of the island, but the following morning we awoke to sunshine, blue skies and a gorgeous private beach resort. Paradise. Ed and Phil spend the whole morning kayaking, and I did some snorkelling with the group. In the afternoon we climbed to the top of the island to see the sunset. We got lost on he way there, and had to run up the hill to catch the sun going down. Pretty spectacular.

The next day, we unfortunately had to leave and headed to Nha Thrang. This is a sea-front city, with high rise hotels and lots of bars and restaurants. Very modern and western. Ed and I went out for dinner, Ed had ostrich in bamboo shoot and I had steak. It was fab! We even got a free cocktail - sweet!

The next day we rented some bikes and went to a temple (yes, another one!). In the afternoon we went to some mudbaths and natural springs. This was so much fun, we even got a personalised mug with pictures of us rolling around in the mud. After the spa we boarded the night train to Saigon, which was an experience! More next time!! xx
