On 6th July we left wet Christchurch at 8:15am and jumped onto the Tranzalpine railway which takes us from the Pacific Ocean in the East to the Tasman Sea in the West. The 4 hour journey goes through Arthur’s Pass and ends inGreymouth. It was a very relaxed way to get to the West Coast. 4th of July maybe Independence Day in the USA a celebration of freedom....but for Edwards/Davis tour we were anything but free. This was a travel day, so we were either stuck in the car, waiting in an airport lounge or trapped in a plane. 3 July, last day in Rotorua. Still raining off and on. We traveled a couple of hours to see the glow worms at the Waitomo caves. It turned out to be dryer in the cave then outside. After a look at the top of the cave we descend to the bottom section and jump in a boat to go the last 50 metres or so to the bottom opening of the cave.
