Glad it's all going well in Laos ! I'll have word with my mate who opened his own cafe / chill out bar in India, cos he keeps raving on about Goa at this time of the year......probably because that's where the Indian people go for their hols ! As for Crimbo I'm sure it doesn't feel like it normally does because of the temp.... needs to be a bit chilly and maybe a bit of white stuff floating around ?!! Anyway enjoy ! :O)

Thought I'd have a look on here to see where you have been, what you have been up to, etc. Looks like you are having an amzing time! Fantastic photos. :) Particularly interesting to see the ones of the effect of the tsunami on Phi Phi - everyone I know who went there went before the Tsunami and I wasn't sure if I could trust the info on websites run by Phi Phi hotels etc. The longtail boat trip you went on in Krabi province looks amazing too.
Would you mind emailing me the names of any hotels and guesthouses you stayed in that you particularly recommend (or particularly recommend avoiding) in any of the following - Bangkok, Krabi, Phi Phi, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Singapore? Sorry for being so cheeky. I'm off to SE Asia in January - doing voluntary work in Phnom Penh for a couple of months then doing a whistle-stop tour of some other places - so at the moment I'm trying to get as many tips as possible from people I know who have been there.
Glad to see you are having such a good time anyway. Any idea when you will be home?
Claire

hey Nat. yep all is cool here. had tims birthday the other day. got steaming the night before and had an excellent meal at 'mama's restaurant' in Laos which is officialy THE friendliest place in the world. Everyone here so far is so unbelievably friendly. Hi Dad>>>>Left Cambodia a few weeks ago. Spent 3 weeks in Viet Nam which was excellent. Met up with quite a few buddies we've met travelling as well as the guys that used to live with us in Sydney. Just arrived in Laos, very beautiful. Went on a trekk today with a local village elder and interpreter. Tasted some of the local dishes for lunch and visited a stupah (buddhist temple) Currently in Savanakhet and moving on to Vientienne, the capital of Laos.
