We headed out to Boston where the high was going to be in the 90's! We started our visit by eating at Ernesto's Pizza. Then we headed out in the heat to walk the Freedom Trail. The city was really pretty. It seemed empty compared to New York City though. We passed by a very busy farmers market. The visitors center was full of people. We stoped by Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots. There is a whole shopping complex there and movie theatres. We went into the fan store where Lin and the boys loaded up on fan gear. There was a nice festive atmosphere with a band playing in the square.

We stopped by the Coast Guard Academy. We missed the open hours for the museum, but we were able to drive around campus. Students were there for the summer already. The campus was very pretty.

On our way north we stopped by the submarine museum in Groton, Connecticut. Here we toured the Nautilus, a nuclear powered submarine built in the late 1950's.

We had a whirlwind day in New York City! We booked 2 nights at a Holiday Inn in Staten Island. We took the free shuttle from the hotel to the ferry. Then we took the Staten Island Ferry to Manhatten. The ferry went right by the Statue of Liberty on the way over. We stopped by the raging bull statue and walked down Wall Street.
