It's the 8th Feb and we are in Vietnam, we arrived in Hanoi after a 30hour bus journey from Luang Probang! It was supposed to take 22hours but took a slight detour picking up and dropping off locals who sat under our seats (and attempted to sit on us!!) and live chickens, a pig, and even some sort of tree. We were losing the will to live by the end if it, but met some really nice people on the way also travelling on the epic voyage! We stayed a night in the Hanoi backpackers hostel which is really popular here, and wandered round the old quarter of the city. The roads are mental with hundreds of mopeds EVERYWHERE! - you have to dodge the crossing busy roads! We visited a via hoi which it basically a bar on the street selling beer for about 15p a pint which is craziness!

Its the 9th Feb and we have just arrived back in Hanoi after a 2 day 1nigh cruise around Halong Bay. We chose a luxury cruise which was lovely. You stay in you own cabin and the boat and the food and tour guides were all amazing and we met a few British people our age so had a laugh too! Tonight we celebrate our 2nd New Year's Eve in 6 weeks as its the Chinese New Year. End of the year of the dragon and beginning of the year of the snake. We are heading out to watch the fireworks around the lake.
