Greetings all Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand and not as hectic as Bangkok. I arrived at 5.30 in the morning and am staying in the old city near the centre. I've met a friend called Eldad from Israel and Chris - from England. I've already hired a bike and come off it- I had to get some wood and straighten out the carry basket! After a hectic morning in Bangkok sorting a new camera I headed west in Northern Thailand to Kanchanaburi. I hung out with Paul - a well traveled Irishman! Bangkok is in over load due to celebrations of the Kings 60 year reign - these people love their King and the city is decorated in bright lights. Krabi is on the main land and is situated north of the Phi Phi Islands. I stayed around Reilly Beach on Ton Soi Beach. Its officailly low season here and I managed to barter a Jungle Hut for 180 Baht a night- 4 quid!. Electricity comes on at 6pm and cuts off at 2am. The best beaches are on the Westside but accomodation is cheaper on the east - this can be sorted by either walking at low tide or Long Tail Boat. Have met some really cool people in this area...

Well Phi Phi has to be my favourite Island its so relaxed in some parts its untrue!. I initially stayed on Long Beach away from the main "town". The weather here has been scorching.
