Its time for the adventure to begin. It was quite a mad day yesterday shifting all our furniture etc to parents garages, lofts, living rooms. They say its cluttering up their house- we think it is a free loan service. I blame the Welsh weather for delaying the Ryder Cup as obviously we had to watch that whilst packing the vans- Superb putt from Gmac on 16- Get in!
Just a few things to sort before we leave for the airport (BA flight London- Beijing departs 16:30), namely:
- We have booked a hotel in Beijing but we know not where it is or how to get there- i guess an address/map would help.
- The small matter of Sally deciding after packing yesterday that her backpack (the blue one above) isn't big enough so we are going to have to make a fleeting visit to Gloucester docks and pick up a new backpack.
- I also need to get a new jacket.
- Sally will then need to pack!
You know what they say about pre-planning and all that!
My entire baggage for the trip weighs in at 15kg- That doesn't seem a lot given that i normally take more clothes than that on a golfing weekend! I don't normally do travelling light but theres a first time for everything!
Having checked the in flight entertainment I have already pencilled in the A Team, The Karate Kid and Grown Ups as my movies of choice. A couple of beers thrown in should get me through the 10hr flight.
Better get sorted then- Tiannamen Square, Great Wall, Birds nest stadium here we come....

bro Hello, mobile not working so messaging instead. So ensconsed in work that I forgot about Ryder Cup on Sunday and remembered Tuesday lunchtime! Oops! Hope you are having fun. Big meeting had 450 people turn up to shout at me until 12.30am, but I got the housing sites I needed through. Even had the famous actor Edward Fox stand up and give 5mins worth of objection to us destroying Purbeck. He was the star of Day of the Jackal if you remember it (not Bruce Willis)He is bottom right in the photo. http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/dorset/hi/people_and_places/newsid_9064000/9064854.stm Anyway enough of the BB, glad you solved subway issue!
