12 hours on the bus, but just a little strech of coast on the map. Byron Bay was warm and summery compared to Sydney, and this is a surfer town with great beaches - but too cold to swim this time of year. I stayed just outside of town, which meant that to get into town I walked 15 minutes on the beach. I never get tired of the ocean, and it was incredibly refreshing after the long busride. I walked throught the town and had a look through the shops and enjoyed lunch in the 'Balcony', they have great food, and comfy sofas on the, yes, balcony.
My friend in Norway comes from Byron Bay, and it was great to see her town. I can see how she might be homesick from time to time. Funny thing though, I almost immideatly ran into her former co-workers!
I guess one of the hightlights of the short stay here was the Crystal Castle, a beautiful garden with the most amazing and enormous crystals.
Another night on the bus, and Sydney with Rosie tomorrow before I go to Bali! It's getting very exciting now.
