So where to next? I don't know if I can take more churches now - it started in Barcelona and that's a while ago. People say that Cinque Terre is a great place to relax and see a bit of nature even if it's touristy as well. 'Italian riviera' sounds nice. I decide to go and Arabella helps me to make a reservation in one of the five villages that are strung like beads on a necklace along the coast: Monterosso al mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. They make up a UNESCO heritage site and were thus awarded because the villages are almost carved into the cliffs here, and the people of these villages have endured great hardship to survive, and off course it's particularly beautiful there. I stay a couple of days in Vernazza and very quickly realize that I'm exhausted and that all I want is to sit by the ocean and to sleep. I get a cold that develops into flue-like symptoms and I start coughing. This is not good. I make my way to the next village anyway and enjoy my day by the ocean. The weather is fantastic and I take it slowly, feeling like I'm a hundred years old.
