Slight lie in then met in foyer at 10am checked out the hotel and walked along to the cable car. Up early to leave for the train station. Getting the coastal Pacific train from Christchurch to picton then the ferry to wellington, saw some lovely Scenery on the way including some dolphins and seals. Up at 8.30 across the road from our hotel was the steam boat ride. Boarded at 10am for a trip across the lake and back took an hour and half. Got in our car and drove To wanaka. A Long winding drive up in the mountains and down again some very steep roads. Wanaka is famous for the tree that Grows in the lake. Had lunch in alchemy restaurant.
