The cathedral dominates the main city square of Nuremburg and this is where the Christmas market is centered. Even early in the day there are lots of visitors to the market but as the day draws to a close the numbers increase tremendously with the little alleys between stalls highly congested with revelers. The most popular areas seem to be the sausage stands, beer and mulled wine outlets which seem to be purposely sited at the ends of the little streets to keep some semblance of flow around the market.
