Melbourne to London
Ashley Fenton and I left Melbourne on the 8th June for Heathrow Airport. We arrived early morning on the 9th June and checked into our Hotel, Kensington Close. We walked around Kensington and went on the tube into London. The first sight we saw when we arrived in London was Big Ben which is the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. We then went to the Tower of London which is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. We saw the Bloody Tower, the Crown Jewels Waterloo Block, Malaysian Guards, the first Female Yeoman Warden, Traitors Gate and the site where seven people were beheaded. We also saw London Bridge which was really impressive. Ashley and I organised a dinner river cruise. We had dinner opposite the Tower of London in the Chez Gerard Restuarant. Out the front of the restaurant was a memorial site where hangings were held. We boarded our cruise boat and set off down the Thames where we saw Southwark Bridge, Wharf Restuarant, London Bridge, Waterloo Bridge, The London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, St Pauls Cathedral, and the Tower of London. After the cruise we walked along the wharf and saw lots of street entertainers, living statues, and musicians to be heard everywhere. We headed back to our hotel where we met up with the Cosmos tour leader Martin, Andy our bus driver and other passengers. Had a few drinks and a late night
