Ennis - Adare - Ring of Kerry - Killarney
Stopped for photos in Adare, a village known for its thatched cottages and monastic ruins. We visited the Cathedral in Adare and the Town Park Gardens. Continuing on to County Kerry, we joined the road known as the "Ring of Kerry" for a 60 kilometre coastal panoramic drive. Along the way we stopped at the Red Fox In for some Irish Coffee. The weather was overcast and it rained for most of the day. The scenery was spectacular with seascapes, mountains dotted with brightly coloured farmhouses, winding lanes bordered with subtropical vegetation, and views of the Lakes of Killarney from Ladies View. Our destination was Killarney. We stayed at the Killarney Court Hotel. We all went to a local pub and were entertained by the hosts, singing and dancing for hours. After dinner some of us walked into town and visited more local pubs and listened to the local musicians who were absolutely brilliant. Nothing better than sitting next to an open fire, with a Baileys listening to great Irish melodies. My feet were tapping all night long.
