Day 40
Today we were leaving Hue for Hanoi on another dreaded sleeper bus :( boohoo.
So we decided to get some souvenirs as we had seen as few things as we had been looking around, so we each got ourselves a casio rubber watch I got purple and Luke got orange, because I am forever asking Luke what time it is :) they show the day, date, time and even light up, they are rather big on my wrist but I love it :) and Luke loves his too. Luke bought some beaded bracelets too.... getting into the travelling spirit :)
Then we had some lovely lunch probably the best we had had in Hue, and headed to the bakery for some bus treats, and boarded the bus at 5pm we were laid next to each other this time on the top deck which was great, although they put all the western people to the back near the toilet and the locals at the front, there was even a baby onboard who only cried once :)
To my surprise we had a stop after about 3 hours we had a stop at a restaurant I was so grateful so I didn't have to use the bus toilet. Then I had some fried rice too as I didn't fancy the bakery treats from earlier so I was then nice and full and ready for sleep, however the same cannot be said for Luke as some other people joined the bus a stop later and Luke was sandwiched in between me and the new guy :(
Day 41
We arrived in Hanoi at 6.30am and were hollared off the bus to a hoard of hungry taxi drivers, so we hoped in one with a meter and he took us to our hotel, well the street next to it, and then tried charging us 12pound for the 5minute journery, but Luke only paid him 6pound :)
We had a little sleep and decided to go explore, our first stop was food we were starving, I had lemongrass chicken and rice and Luke had chicken with mushroom and onion with rice, they were rather tasty but the chicken is rather poor in all the dishes we've had very fatty obviously not breast ;)
Then we went to the market :) :) :) :) :) We saw many lovely things which we will be going back to purchase on our return to Hanoi after Ha Long Bay on Friday. Mainly chopsticks, conical hat, Luke wants a toy that the locals play with and a Vietnam t-shirt, and an incense holder.
Then we went for more food :) and a few alcoholic beverages and retired for the night.
