Fiji - Week 2
Korovou
Then we headed to Korovou Resort another cloudy day, the tide was so far out when we arrived that all the coral was on show and we had to walk down a man made path to get to the resort. Due to the poor weather we decided to play volleyball. This resort also had a pool so I had a little swim also :) there were little caterpillars in the water at the side of the pool too. The next morning we had to be up for 6am to go out and swim with MANTA RAYS !!!!!! :0 so we boarded the boat and headed out to find some and we did and we kept jumping in and out of the water with them and they swam underneath us it was amazing. They are MASSIVE bigger than me, but they are so cute and graceful. On one occassion we even saw a reef shark, they are only small but it still scared me :s just a little, but I still jumped back in :) We did some dancing that night.
The next day before we left we made some handbags and other items from coconut tree ferns and then the girls did a fashion show around the pool :)
Safe Landing Resort
This was our last island before heading back to the mainland, when we arrived we went to do the Blue Lagoon snorkling trip, it was so much better than the reef at the Castaway island, the coral was sooooooo high, much taller than me, and so beautiful colours and shapes, and there were sea anemone and electric blue starfish, and the fish were so cheeky here they kept coming upto my googles and checking me out, and the barracuda on the surface were in schools and would come really close, again some of the fish were huge it was fantastic I LOVED IT !!!!!
The second day we went to the Sawailau Caves where you were able to swim inside the cave it was crazy but beautiful. Again the sun wasn't out today so we participated in a coconut demonstration at the resort. We went to pick our coconuts and then we shredded them of their outter shell, who knew that the little brown coconut came from a bigger coconut, and that young coconuts that are green are ones before the brown coconut has had chance to form inside. The young coconuts are the ones we drank from in Bangkok and they have a much sweeter water. Once we had done this then we had to shave to coconuts inside to get all the pulp out which is what they then squeeze to use to make coconut milk. Then we ate it :) mmmm tasty. One of the guys there even climbed up the coconut tree like a monkey to get us some young coconuts. Today we played volleyball again girls vs guys and guess who won....?!?! GIRLS !!!!!!! SOOOOOO FUN!!!!!!!
Our final day was yet again glum so we decided to participate in some more resort activities coconut jewellery making :) Luke made me a bracelet and a ring, and one of the resort staff said I looked like his sister so he kept trying to annoy me :s did not work :)
