Hello!! So I thought it was about time I updated you on my latest adventures...its been a while!! So we left Koh Samui and travelled by boat to Koh pha-ngan....when we got there a guy Terri knows called Rowan met us at the pier and took us to a few places he had looked at for us to stay....we ended up at a place called cookies and was quite possibly the worst nights sleep I have ever had in my entire life...when we looked in one of the huts (they were just wooden shacks) there was a MASSIVE grey spider on the mosquito net so i ran out and said not staying there! So we moved to another hut....they had to change the light fightings as they was no electricity, the ceiling wasnt closed off so anything could crawl in any time it pleased! no hot water, and a lizard living in the roof that didnt shut up all night! The only time it did was when a storm came at 2am and lasted for about an hour and a half! Not a fun night! So we moved to another part of the island the next day and stayed at a place called Milky Bay Resort...we both loved it there...it was a really nice place, and had a thai lady that gave the best massages, a good pool, nice restaurant, pool tables, a bar area and really friendly staff! So we stayed there for a couple of nights.....on the Thursday we went into Haad Rin in the day where the full moon parties take place and found a tattoo shop we liked the look of....we spent ages in there having a look and one of the guys ended up designing my tattoo for me....we had them drawn on in pen first and then went wondering for the afternoon (to some really nice beaches just around the bay) because we wanted to see if we liked them properly first....then we went back and had them done! Cant believe some of you didnt believe it was real! I had it done with bamboo sticks, apparently they heal much quicker this way, and held hands with Terri and a guy from the shop whilst I had it done!! Was a bit painful at some points, but was over really quickly and I love it!! At night, at the full moon warm up party, we met up with some guys we met where we were staying...they were lots of fun! One of them had f**k me tattooed on his groin in thai! Very silly....but it was very funny watching him have it done.....he had it done the same place we had ours done that afternoon - anyway the lady that ran the salon next door was having a private birthday party in a bar a couple of doors down and she invited me and Terri to join her!! So we had a drink and a dance with them in their bar - was lots of fun!! Then we spent the rest of the night at the beach party with the guys from our resort and had a great night...there were sooooo many 18 years old smashed out of their faces on god knows what - fire dancers everywhere, people dancing on tables everywhere - lots going on! Was a fun experience but really busy! Glad we left before the end! We were tempted to stay at milky bay an extra night but decided to stick to what we had planned so the next day we travelled to Koh Tao.
Terri did her diving in Koh Tao so I pretty much spent 3 days in the sun! Which was really nice as hadnt chilled out for a little while and my tan was starting to fade! This is where I burnt my nose quite bad - it was bright pink! Terri was diving with a couple of guys, one from england one from canada, so we had dinner with them a couple of nights, they were both really nice guys so that was nice too....Koh Tao was good as we stayed on Siree Beach right in the thick of it all so didnt need to get tuk tuks everywhere...our room was bloody awful though! We got it free as Terri was doing her diving....so needless to say it was basic!!
So from Koh Tao we travelled by boat for 3.5 hours to Chumporn...I wasn't feeling very well this day, and being on a boat didnt help! i went to be sick in the toilet on the boat but the water from the ocean was just spirting out from it that I couldnt! Think I had a tiny bit of sun stroke as I just felt really hot and sick.....we sat outside the boat on the edge but then we went right through a big storm so everyone had to go inside - 200 people and no air con in a closed room is not fun when you feel sick!! So I was really pleased when we got to Chumporn finally! We had a few hours there until our night train so we had a wonder round the town and went for some ice cream (i couldnt eat anything else as I still didnt feel well). Our night train (with no bed!) left Chumporn at 10:30pm and arrived in bangkok at 6am...we harldy slept all night as the air con was ice cold and they was a screaming baby in our cabin that wouldnt shut up!!
So then we went to our hotel that we had pre booked and I slept for most of the day and watched a couple of films...we went out at night and tried to find some dinner but everywhere was little stalls selling local food that didnt look like it was safe to eat....so we ordered food from our hotel and got an early night...
On Monday morning we flew from Bangkok to Laos on Laos Airways - an experience! The plane was the smallest I have ever been on by far! I wasnt looking forward to it at all when I saw it - I'll put a pic of it on here. It had 18 rows and there were 12 of us on the flight! The flight was 1,5hours long and there was turbulence for about an hour of it! Not a good few hours for me! When we got here we had a look round a few guesthouses (some were awful!!) and then found where we are now staying. Its a nice little guest house (apart from the cockroaches the first night crawling on Terris arm when she tried to get them!! - So we moved rooms the next morning)...and right in the centre of town....there is an awesome night market here! I have spent lots here and got some great pressies! We went to a waterfall yesterday which was really pretty and saw some bears there too! There has been a lot of rain since we have been here - is chucking it down as I write this - so its a bit of a pain in the day as you cant do too much...we hired bicycles for a couple of days and rode round the city, to a few temples etc which was fun but other than that there isnt too much here to to....so we are moving on to Vang Vieng a day early (tomorrow instead of Sunday) and will spend an extra night there in stead.....
Think thats everything up to date with my travels for another week or so now! Will put photos on when I get to a place with decent internet - its really slow here....hope everyone is OK back home - keep in touch.....home in a month!!
Love and miss you all xxxxxx
