Sunday 27th
Was woken at 5.30 and whisked away to watch the sunset over Ulluru and have breakfast cooked by Matt. Only so many photos you can take of a rock! We seen another dingo.
Now on our way to do the Uluru base walk. I had a better nights sleep than the night before. We arrived for the base walk at 7.40, Nikolaj decided to do the base walk barefooted in respect of the aboriginals, it took two hours least it was all on the flat, but all gravel, Nikolaj feet must have been sore. the flys where starting to annoy us by the time we had finished Evelyn swallowed one. After having a toilet break we are now on our way back to Alice! We had a break for a picnic lunch but I'd had enough of the fly's having first choice so declined lunch today.
On the road again and next stop a camel farm, in the late 1800's, 20,000 camels were brought over to Australia from Afghanistan to work on the Stuart Highway when this was complete and no longer needed they let them free, now Australia has about 2 million wild camels.
Our next stop Alice Springs, Yesss - BACK TO CIVILISATION!!! (Well nearly)
After a debate 3 against 1 of whether to take a taxi (with the receptionist included in the debate, Mike being the minority) it was decided we take a taxi to and from the Rock Bar to join our new found pals to celebrate the end of the tour. (Due to safety reasons). A great bunch of people, who we had a good laugh with, without them the tour wouldn't have been the same. Shame Phil and Evelyn couldn't have joined us for a drink but we wish them safe travels back home. We wouldn't have done the outback any other way. It was great fun and it was a true adventure...... Our next stop Cairns
