The Night Train ...Destination Surat Thani

Its 6:30PM , Jade and I are eager to board the night train sleeper to Surat Thani. The train is due to leave at 7:30pm. we pitch up on the station floor along with all the 100+ Backpackers eagerly waiting to head south from the City of Bangkok. Jade and I are armed with all kinds of delicious snacks from the seven-eleven, Thailands answer to The Spar shops we get back in the U.K. I have my beady eye on platform 4 where our train is departing.The train is on the platform, I am frantically rushing Jade to get to the train I am super excited for this next part of adventure , With Jade in tow we have no Idea how our first ever nights sleep on a train is going to be like. Like two excited school children we stash our luggage so it is safe,unpack the snacks and take our seats... the train is huge ,we are trying to work out where our beds are ? The window is wide open,The fan rushing cool air on to our heads .A sound of a train horn , and our carriage shunters and bounces around for a slight moment before we are moving as slow as a sloth.The train starts to pick up speed, A Thai worker is setting up the beds at a rapid pace , A somewhat super speed chambermaid. So eager to get in beds to see how comfy they are , we are not disappointed, really comfortable and relatively cool. All this excitement has got us both tired, so its our first sleep on a train .. 10 hrs time we should of travelled 691 km south of Bangkok to Surat Thani. Jade and I wake to to a gloriously sunny morning in the south of Thailand , Its Lush and green very hot and it is only 7am, half an Hour later we arrive at Surat Thani. We disembark the train and make our way to exit . And now starting to realise it must be a south east asian tradition to ambush westerners when they are near or getting off transport, It drives me crazy and Jade just laughs at how easy I get wound up By these men asking "where you go sir" , "I find you best price sir" , LEAVE ME ALONE ,. let me think for myself ... ARGHHHHH .

So after debating with my partner in crime Jade, we decide on goin to Khao sok national park , one mad dash across the street to catch a coach that is just about to leave for a 3 hr journey further south to our next destination .
