A warning to all travelling to Cambodia via Poipet !

My girlfriend and I had booked bus tickets to get to Siem Reap in Koh Chang, Both really excited to get there but dissapointed with the lack of choice with whom you get your visa from! We ended up getting dropped off at a hotel, I guess in Arranyaprathet as no one would tell us where we were either, and we end up getting stung with extra charges for our visa. The really rude lady gave us every text book answer from the lonely planet book aswell! what are we to do? except pay this ridiculous charge, ok in the grand scheme of things it is only an extra 10 dollars each, but when travelling on a budget that is 10 meals or 10 beers. So after all this drama, we find out the border is just round the corner from this hotel(see picture) and you can walk to the border saving yourself the $10pp extra for them to do it! I was so angry that we had done so well this trip not to fall for the scams and there we were forced right into the middle of one without choice.

Please do not make the same mistake as us .. IT SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN $25

P.S even worse they make you pay in baht so it works out even more !
