We set off down south to head toward Melbourne. We heard that accommodation was pretty booked up in Melbourne itself (swimming championships in full swing) so we thought we'd take our time since there's quite a lot to see on the way. First stop was Narooma. Really lovely. Stayed at Mystery Bay Cottages - only 6 of them and all overlook the rolling hillside while being 5 mins walk from the beach. The bedroom and living room had fantastic views and the kitchen was a very generous size to allow the chef to create a masterpiece each evening. Decided we wanted to stay forever but settled for 3 nights.
We walked lots and played in the sea and even made a friend (Bill the Dingo). We found a ball and played fetch with him and dreamed of smuggling him home but before you could say "A dingo stole my baby" he'd found some new friends and abondoned us altogether.
You may notice from the next batch of photos that I'm wearing a rather fetching bandana around my neck. I'd just like to make it clear that I had a strange itchy skin rash on my neck which was apparently left by sea lice (lovely) and needed to protect it from the sun.
Oh and the sun. We've both got burnt and it's not nice - so harsh. After 30 minutes drying off after a swim, we both felt the effects.
Anyway, from Narooma we went to Eden for a day and stayed in an old renovated pub which was novel (four poster beds, bed bugs etc) then went straight to the Snowy Mountains. Dom will fill you in on them.
