A lazy start (as always!) & chilled chatting to Roy & Jon, (see pic), 2 Israeli guys on their travels having just finished their 3 years national service in the army. We'd been advised to pick up some local oil based mosquito repellent as "the mosquitos in Bocas don't read English so aren't deterred by deet"! So we took a $1 water taxi ride across to the other island to find the Pickled Parrot, only to be told when we got there that it was on our island! b*****! So we had a stroll around, grabbed some lunch & headed back. We found the Pickled Parrot 15mins walk along the coast where we picked up some mosquito repellent oil & bumped into Sinead, one of the Irish girls from San Blas. It turns out 1 of them broke her foot on some coral when she jumped in the sea, so is having to fly home, bless her. We agreed to catch her later at the big Saturday night party at our hostel & headed back to chill & get ready for the night. We ate & started drinking with the Israeli guys at about 6pm, but the 150 odd people for the party didn't arrive until about 9/10. For some unknown reason, the beers didn't seem to be doing their job, so we didn't really get in the party mood & ended up spending the evening chatting to Roy, Jon, Jeff (Canadian 'dude') & a few others. Rach played Mum during the evening as 3 of the Irish girls turned up, got ridiculously inebriated within about an hour, resulting in her putting them in a (water) taxi & sending them home! That coupled with the other stoopidly drunk girl who plonked herself in a chair next to us & fell in & out of sleep, spouting sh*te during her conscious moments, kept us sober. As a result, we left the party & people jumping in & out of the pool/sea at about 1:30am to crash.
