I nipped out for some fruit salads while Rach did breakfast for us. As we'd not done too much yesterday, we thought we'd go for a ride around the island today. However, our place just seems to bring out the lazy b****** in you, as we didn't manage to get going until after our fruit filled lunch. First off we rode to the north of the island, where we found the main 'beach' & bar that everyone goes to during the day. This was on the 'split', which was where the island had been split in 2 a few years back by a strong hurricane. We then rode to the far end of the island taking in the little places to stay & eat along the way. I make it sound like a long way, however it only took us about 30minutes from one end to the other & that was riding slowly!! After a beer & snack at one of the beach bars, we headed back, where yours truly crashed out for 3 hours & missed the rest of the afternoon. I woke up in time for dinner & decided to check on the weather as we'd seen a warning on the hurricane weather site that there was a tropical storm headed our way. It seemed to be moving quite slowly, so as we'd been checking out snorkelling trips during the day, we decided we'd see how things were in the morning & maybe go then. The heavens opened just as we were heading out, so we had to wait until it stopped & have a few drinks at 'home'. When it eventually did, we grabbed the bikes & cycled around, finally stopping at one of the 'corner' restaurants for another 'cheap' meal! It's a shame really, as this place is gorgeous, with a great Caribbean vibe to it & only spoiled by the restaurants charging extortionate amounts for food & drinks. Not much seemed to be going on in the town, so we headed back, keeping a close eye on the hurricane website.
