Slight detour today in that I flew up to Sydney to FMF which is a mega outdoor festival, mainly to see New Order, but also keen to see SHM and Fatboy Slim.
Had agreat afternoon in Sydney and a few beers overlooking the harbour before heading out to the racecourse where the festival was taking place.
Chaos - 30k hammered teenage Australians, or so it seemed until I reached the sanctity of the VIP area between the main stages where I felt much more at home, far less riff raff and a similar age profile (haha).
Quick review, Fatboy OK - but nothing more, his stage show is akin to what the Human League used to do back in 78/79 pre split.
Swedish House Mafia were very good, I can see why they are so rated.
Tiny Tempah - so so - set too long.
New Order - brilliant, really great gig if a bit on the short side due to the curfew, finished with TEMPTATION which used Lou Reed's STREET HASSLE as an intro, first time I've seen them do that.
No Peter Hook, but no real difference TBH. Sound was great after song three, superb PA and all in a great gig.
Crashed at the airport hotel and flew back to Sunshine this morning, where J&J picked me up before we headed into Brisbane .
Reminds me, I mut do a blog for my trip to see the SISTERS in Auckland.
Later.
