It was a stunning day, a great end to a great holiday, and to top it off the youngen told me he had an excellent day.
It didn't start off that way, as we sat in line for the first ride for over an hour. We were at the park at opening time, the X2 is the most popular ride there, and each time we went past afterwards the line was longer to get on. This ride was extreme to the max. That's it in the photo. You sit out from the track in cars that do a 360. You start out going backwards, like you're in a recliner, but thats where the similarity ends. At the top of the ride your chair spins so you are now looking at the ground from an unbelievable height, you do 360's in the chair while the ride is loop the looping and barrel rolling, unfreaking believable, although if you're over 21 don't vocalise your exhilaration, the youngen doesn't like it. And let me tell you, the first time you go on this ride, you can't keep your mouth shut........
The second ride, the Viper, we were in the line for 45 minutes. I learned this day about the patience the youngen has, or hasn't, depending, so it was decided to get a flash pass. This gets you to within a few rows from the front, but not to the top of the line. If you only have a day this is the way to go. We got to ride everything we wanted with the most a 15 minute wait. Doesn't come cheap though, and there are three tiers, regular gold and platinum, guess which the youngen wanted.....
There was one ride the youngen would not ride, Superman, zoom backwards up 40 stories then back down, 72 mph, easy, but he was not interested..........
Anyway, the day wore him out, he had to ask if we could go, being the ever accommodating uncle, I obliged. The greatest compliment came shortly after, that he had the best day.........
Our time quickly coming to an end and after almost 1800 miles I don't know how I'll be able to drive without his constant and vocal assistance......
Heading for home tomorrow. Plane departs at 1545, so will leave hotel about midday.
Hope you have all enjoyed keeping track of our journey. Will update with photos etc on the plane so stay tuned for the end...........
