The Jetty Star
As the sun set over the Lake in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, the beams glistened off the water and the red footbridge deepened it's tone. Quite a sight at such a magical hour of the day. I sit with my head tilted back on the park bench and let my mind wander. It seemed as though with a blink of an eye the night sky bled through the dusk.
With the cool breeze blowing th clouds across the darkened sky, I tried to recognize any of the constellations I know. But from the other side of the world, it all looked a little different. But wait, there was one! I know that one! Orien. Yes, right there between the trees, it was Orien. And from here in Hanoi, I saw something I've never noiced before. Right thre next to Orien's belt, the most amazing star I've ever seen caught my eye.
The Jetty Star, it's called. And it was the kind of star that once you see it, it draws you in. It's energetic. Peaceful. It's a place you can look to let your mind wander. To free your thoughts. This star is where my heart was at tonight. It carried me. I held it close, being comforted by knowing that I can always look into the sky, find the Jetty Star and know where I am.
This is a star that you should see too! Look up in the dark sky tonight. And when yu do, you'll also know that I'm not so far away, because I can look into the heavens and see the same things farr off in the distanc as you can.
Tonight, I can see something shing so bright that I can't keep my mind off of it. And I realiz that although it was bon into the universe many years ago, it's only know that I am able to see it. Maybe I just wasn't looking until now. Or maybe the light from that bright star traveled through the years and just now reached the night sky that I'm gazing into In any case, I am soaking it in. At this moment, I lift my head from the park bench to continue my walk, knowig that any time I need it, the Jetty Star is right here with me. In this moment I know I am blessed.
