"We're here," my sister shouts happily jumping out of train that has brought us to our next destination Budapest, Hungary.
We start our day of exploring by walking the Andrassy Avenue. It is a beauty of nature full of trees. At the end of the street we see the hero's monument which is HUGE.
We then visit the Octagon. It is very cool and fun. It is also shaded.
We also saw the opera house, where my father informed us we would be having a tour of the following day.
We then head to the largest temple in Europe. It is very unusual, because it has some Christian traits. It has an organ in it which is very unusual for a temple. In addition, it also has a graveyard next to it.
We now get to see the graveyard. Here dead bodies are buried on to of one another. All these bodies were victims of the ghettoes in WWII.
Weeping Willow a monument dedicated to those who died in Hungary. On each leaf is the name of someone who died.
We also saw the monument in honor of who helped Jews. It was a huge stone and four columns with the names of the people.
We went to the Jewish museum of Hungary. It was fascinating. I got the opportunity to learn about Jewish rituals and the holocaust.
We later walk across the chain bridge at night. It is all lit up.
Last we went to see the iron shoes. This is a memorial to the Jews who were shot into the river. It consists of sixty pairs of iron shoes.
Here we recall that some kids managed to escape, because they were able to jump in the water and swim across the river in the middle of winter.
