"Wow," is the only word I can utter as i am put in awe by St. Stephen. We first visited an amazing cathedral, that is a big church, called the Cathedral of St. Stephen. We took a podcast tour and learned so much. It was the third church in that area. It is rare, because it was completed before the gothic style died out. If you look at an Austrian ten cent Euro you will see one of the churches towers is the icon for the coin.
The area around here used to be a graveyard. The church suffered from war and still has a cannonball in it from a war with ottoman turks. It was destroyed in WWII and got donations so it could be repaired. Anyone who donated owns a tile.
We next got to follow Rick Steve's city tour. We get to see and learn about many sights. We saw the plague column and St. Peter's church. I also learned that Hitler wanted to be an artist originally. With my little eye I also spied café sacher and Hofburg.
I was fascinated by the armor museum. I got to see different models of armor. Some had little protection and other lot. There was one with a huge bird mask that my sister and me laughing until we we were gasping for air. I also had the opportunity to see many weapons, such as arrows in quivers, swords, and guns. Bam-Bam.
We follow this up by visiting the upper floor of the Imperial apartment. Here we learn about Empress Sissy and her assignation. We saw where she used to live and her family life.
Next, we see four statues that are meant to be monument against war. It was built after WWII.
