we were actually doing it! We pulled up at our hostel, checked into our room and sat there not quite sure just what to do or what we’d let ourselves in for!!! The hostel we’re staying in was in the dodgy area of town, and we saw 2 cop cars within an hour of being there!!! After ringing home and Louise to let them know we’re safe, unpacking a few bits and getting freshened up we went out for our first exploration of Vegas! We walked so far that afternoon, for a good couple of hours all the way to the stratosphere, which is a casino with a massive tower coming out of it and it has 3 rides on the top of the tower! By the time we got there it was getting dark and we were hungry and knackered so got some food and then went to sleep!! Jet lag affected us for the first couple of days and also Si, who we picked up from the airport the next day. Our time in Vegas was spent looking through the casinos, which were so amazing! There was so much going on in these places, the best casino was probably the Casino Royale or New York New York! Some of the things these places had were lion cages, theme park rides, shopping malls, most of them had massive halls for all the live shows that go on there, and pretty much every casino had a show going on or a star performing every night! The best part of our stay in Vegas was when we went to the Grand Canyon. We got to have a flight from Vegas over the Hoover Dam and over to the western ridge of the Canyon, we got a bus tour round the ridge and the views were absolutely awesome! Breathtaking, you cannot take in the scale of this place through photos alone! We also flew back out of the canyon as the sun was setting over Vegas!
