...Goodbye. Adios. Au revoir. Farewell...
It was a very memorable goodbye and after a last minute, dash and panic to try and get everything ready on time I was able to sit down and enjoy a meal and drink with my family and friends before I left. I was really touched that they'd made it down to say goodbye and I was also really touched by the gift little Kelly gave me - a photo frame that i can carry everywhere with me with pictures of many of my friends inside, it really is treasured.
The farewells at the airport were quite tearful but also quite funny I think Stuart and Emily sum it up best.
Stuart: "Well to all those that missed it she's finally gone to thailand(then oz), and started the trip of a life-time. the goodbye's were maybe the funniest that i have ever seen, with a handful of us there to see her off and the family too we all went to the pub for a little drink before she went through the customs desk.
"Now for the final goodbye, still she managed to cheer up everyone by getting her back-pack stuck in the box for checking the size before she went through, needing help from the staff as she pulled the whole box(with sign,2m tall) about a bit to finally head through. Hope to see her soon and in one piece with any luck, but you know what kelly is like, she'll probably be in south america by now thinking *s***, that wasn't my plane*."
Emily: "that was after she had to buy a new backpack because she had too much stuff. Only Kelly bless her could do something like that."
Well you know me i was never going to leave quietly :o)
