Well with just a couple more weeks left on this farm in Hope we wanted to get as many of the big projects completed before we go! So, hammer in hand and saw, we set to work this week fencing in the front paddock to make a large grazing area for the horses. Hard work in the heat we have had, so plenty of beer breaks of course!! The heatwave in the UK seems to have drifted over to us... phew...! Loving the hot weather but working with animals and on a farm in the heat can be thirsty work so we decided to have our first proper break (from our usual 7am start) and take off camping for a few days near Harrison Hot Springs. After a few rainy days in Hope, stunting our work here for a while we shot off at the first sign of sunshine to get a well earned rest from the farm and take a drive along the Fraser Canyon to 'Hell's Gate' for the day!! Well we have been living the farming life for two weeks now and once the chicken fiasco was over we settled into a very comfortable routine here... rising early to feed all the animals and muck them out - nice... and then complete the numerous DIY and maintenance needed on the farm... didn't think i was much good at woodwork at school but it appears i can indeed make a fence?!!!
