Didier Moutia's Travels
Well another day and another law enforcement agency to deal with! You know that great campsite we found yesterday, well it seems it is in fact a service centre for the Alp d'Huez council trucks and we of course should not be parked in there.
We spent sometime talking to the council worker and the Municipal Police. After some negotiation we were allowed to stay. What a relief. With 3000 camper vans on the mountain, the chances of finding a spot so close to the event is next to zero. Also the funny thing is that we have now become officially part of the Tour de France technical services thanks to our awesome parking spot ;)
After negotiating with the police we quickly disappeared before the authorities changed their minds. We headed to our favorite beer and coffee shop. This place has an awesome view and the local beer selection keeps us occupied. Alpe d'Huez has a great number of restaurants and bars to choose from.
Today there is not much on the agenda but we do have a major goal, find a pub with the Tour showing live. Mission accomplished! We came across the Alpe d'Huez Underground Bar. Great place to watch the tour and sink some beers.
