Hi everybody. Just a quick note from Vietnam before I head to New Zealand. Had a fantastic time here once I had avoided the floods and cock-roach infested hotels!! Vietnam is a country getting back on its feet after a terrible war, which feels all the more poignantly pointless when able to actually visit and see the terrible destruction to the county and people. It's a land of contrast, from beautitful landscapes such as Halong Bay, with its mutilple rocky islands rising from the South China Sea, to the many minority peoples with theirs brightly coloured traditional costumes and busy markets, to wonderfully quiet beach resorts.
