Hi all We are on the move again from Pucon having climbed the most active volcano in South America yesterday!!! A bit of a treck to nearly 3000 meters in snow and ice. We saw molten lava and at one stage had to run quickley to avoid the hot rocks being sent flying out. One of the group went to pick up a black bit of magna to notice it was melting snow and red in the centre. The gas made the old eyes and throat not their best. It was easier to get back down ...

In Chile now, in Patagonia, the land of big scenery of mountains and glaciers, with bitterly cold winds which take a bit of getting used to after the forty degree heat in Paraguay. We have just come back from the Argentinian side, where we walked on the Merino Glacier, and took a boat trip into the Glacial Park, where we sailed right up to the face of glaciers, hearing them creak and groan before huge chunks of ice crach into the lake water, and felt like Titani...
