Day 6 - 7th May
After a long journey on the over night train we finally arrive in Chiang Mai. We had a transfer arranged to pick us up from the train station and take us to our hotel (you'll probably have noticed that we haven't actually made it to any hostels as yet!) We stayed in a nice place called the Parasol Inn and what a difference Chiang Mai is compared to the dirty smelly town of Bangkok! Chiang Mai is a lot cleaner and the people here seem a lot friendlier too.
We thought that our jungle trek started today but the itinerary given to us from TAT wasn't accurate at all and we soon found out that the organisers and guides of the tour really aren't the most organised of people so we went the next couple of days not actually knowing in what order we were actually doing things! It turned ok in the end so all was good.
Today therefore, turned out to be a free day to do as we pleased so checked in got ourselves sorted and went to the 'Maerim Monkey School'. There really wasn't much to this place and your around it within 5 minutes which was a disappointment but I got to hold a little baby monkey on the way in which was cool but the little b***** was running all over me, round my back over my head and then started to pull my hair, he was dead cute though. Cheryl again didn't want to get too close (you'll probably getting the impression by now that she doesn't really take to animals very much)
The rest of the day was a bit of a chill out ready for our 3 day Jungle Trek which starts tomorrow (what are we letting ourselves in for!!)
