touched down in cairns for the first day of our oz adventure . booked into a hostel on the beach front for a few days and gettin gooned up with the people there . (goon is what everyone here calls cheap wine , comes by the boxload ) . we stayed near a greek taverna that peter andres brother owns , i know that cos someone told me . we never ate there . had a good halloween party there where we dressed as the 118 men . we couldnt find any red shorts to wear so we setttled on buying red boxers and wearing them out . no one knew who we were , even brought back the old hanlebar moustache for it . After a few days in the hostel we went out for dinner one night and spontaineously decided to rent a campervan , sheila . so we stayed in cairns another few days in a carpark . done some midnight cookin out the back of the van .plus my bankcard finally arrived so i was independant again . we went to port douglas and got rudely awoken by the council at 7am saying no camping . beach was good though , comfy enough for a kip . we headed south after that and stayed in a couple of dead towns where saturday nights end at 10pm . no chance of a sunday sesh unless you go to bed at 6pm . went to townsville after that , just woke in the morning and went for a swim in the lagoon then went for a beer , not a bad way to spend your monday mornins . we went on a wee mandate to the picture house . unfortunately we met liz , the less said about her the better .one day before . while wev been driving we saw some kangaroos 5 alive ones and 9 dead , 1 headless . went on a rainforest walk to hunt cassowaries . unsuccesfull.one day as we were driving to airlie beach to book whitsundays we saw a sign in mcds giving out free face painting for mchappy day , so hutchy became a panda (at last )and diarmaid was a tiger . so we got to airlie beach and went to the travel agents and pub as animals , we got some weird looks. as we had parked up for the night we were moved on by the secuirity guard telling us to pack up our bongos and move on , he was a bit of a weirdo .we even did some didgeredoo lessons , what a pointless instrument . We went on a 3 day tour of whitsundays . on a boat . and done some scuba diving in the great barrier reef . diarmaid managed to be sick 12 meters under water , not good . we eventually took over the bout with our scottish drinkin . we even managed to relocate the after party to the beach cos the pubs to expensive for us. so now wer in rainbow beach waiting to do a frasier island tour . should be good , should be goon .
