We still had lots of time to kill before my late night flight home so we next drove to the Earthquake Memorial. I'm told this was another popular venue for wedding couples to take photos

This sounded strange, why would you want to take your photos next to an earthquake memorial? As we arrived there was a long stretch limo with a giant model returning after a photoshoot.

The monument was simple enough showing a soldier rescuing a mother and child when the earthquake struck. The event happened in the 1960s.

There was a gypsy mother and child who after being told to leave us along went and started bothering a couple of romantic teenagers

Then behind down by the river we saw couples having their photos taken. It was picturesque by the small waterfall and some of the early spring tree colours nearby

We drove around lots of Soviet era apartments before our next destination
