Back at street level outside the Amir Timur Museum is a giant ringed road plaza with a large statue of Timur mounted on a horse. This statue has changed over the years from Lenin, Stalin, and now Timur.The plaza faces some historic buildings. On one side is the original central bank building. This afternoon I requested to visit the Amir Timur Museum. This was not part of the tour but since we were visiting the square outside it made sense to go in as well.
