So last night was my last night with Ilse and she dropped me off at Debbie's house way up in the North Bay some 1 hours drive away!! Crazy how big this place is. I would have bused it but Ilse wouldnt let me in the pouring rain and gale force winds!! Shucks a major change in the weather from what had been!! I was not keen!! I had an absolutely amazing time with Ilse, with catching uo and her showing me around a few places. Bring on the summer when we can do so much more and go see so many more places!!!
So I'm at Debbies house and OMG she has a puppy called charger, he is just the most cutest thing ever!!! Very nearly packed him and brough him back to ashburton with me!!
Anyway, Debbie i have not seen for iver 20 years and boy boy so much family stuff to catch up on, but before we did that we waitied for Uncke Ken and Aunty Helen to arrive, Debbies parents so we could all talk and catch up. which we souly did over some dinner a few drinks and coffee.
The following day, everyone was working but Unce Ken had the afternoon off so we headed down to Devon Port, ordered some Fish and chips take away and drove to North Head which was a Battery in the good old war days or something like that, as there were canons and guns and everything around the island. Google people google!! LOL!!! The rain came down so we sat in the car and ate our fish and chips which was LUSH!! And oh my dear old Aunty Helen had thought of everything as she does and packed a bag with wets cloths to cean out hands, salt, pepper, lemon juice, tomoto sauce, cokes, beers, paper towels and cups. So organised!!! LOL!!
The rain stopped so we wondered around but the cloud was pretty low over the bay so could see out to sea, but still a beautiful place. We then headed back in to sea the Devon Port Harbour and wondered around looking at the ferries coming and going and the yatchs in the harbour, very posh i say! It was hell of a windy and cold so headed back to the car and on to Lake Pupuke, WOW this place was eerie, dark dark water and the depth unknown, divers have gone missing in this lake and wow silence all around!! But stunning scenery and would be a great picnic and day spot in the summer.
We headed back to Uncle Kens house for coffee and biscuits and wauted for Aunty Helen to finish work, she managed to get the afternoon from 15:30 onwards off, so we headed out to Gulf Harbour and then a drive back through Whangarei to see the beaches!
Wow Gulf Harbour, this is a very rich and how the other half live kind of place, with houses around the harbour a jetty outside your back door, tie your yatch up and walk off and step into your house!! WOW Beautiful!!
There are so many beaches along this area and oh boy a place i want to re visit in the summer and tikki tour around!! Beautiful scenery and sunsets to be seen here!!
We stopped off at the Alphine indoor ski arena and have a coffe and watched the people skiing, they make it look so easy i tell you so easy!! We then headed back to Debbies for dinner and play time with Charger!!
