So after 3 weeks in melbourne Denise finallly found us some farm work and off we went to robinvale, a.k.a middle of nowhere.
Robinvale is a very little town one supermarket one bar and lots of farmers and aussie people.
In robinvale we lived in a campervan which was great, it was like having our own house.
We started work at 5 am everyday and worked between 7 and 9 hours a day... the rest of the day we spend sat next to the aircon watching crappy aussie tv hahaha. The first day of work was very hard we did 7 hours without a break and Denise was DONE, so Gavan our boss took her home, Josh stayed and did 8.5 hours. After the first week it got easier and we got used to the heat. Our work was about uncovering the vine yards, which were covered in white tarps so that the grapes were protected from rain and sun, all we had to do was wa;lk along the vines pulling out the nails that stuck the tarp to the vine and then pull the tarp onto the floor, once the tarps were on the floor you had these machines to roll them up or to throw them away depending on if the tarps were good or not. After a month of work josh got "promoted" to working on the machines rather than pulling out the nails, her loved this because it made the days go faster and he didnt spend all day pulling out nail after nail after nail.
We met a lot of people working on the farm, lots of them came and went, some stayed longer than others. Most the people we worked with were irish, there were some french, italian, argentinian, estonian, chinese, german, english....
Our first week working there our boss gavan gave josh a car so that we could get to work and the supermarket... but then he took it away hahahah.
As it got closer to winter we started work later, around 7 ish even 8 somtimes. This was better because you slept longer and got home later just in time for dinner tv and bed.
WE had one week were it rained so we couldnt work and that was hell because there was nothing to do at all in robinvale, so we just stayed at the caravan park and ate and drank and drank and ate. One of the girls who was staying there made dinner for us all so that was nice. We also had a pizza night were we all made our own pizzas.
Sometimes on days off we would go to the puc.. this little nothingness bar where we drink and that was about it hahaha or we would go to the euston club were you could gamble on horses or pllay on the pokes, iot wasnt much better than the pub. Or we would go over to "accomodation village" where a friend of ours stayed and she would cook for us, she also taught denise how to make quiches and chicken with stuffing and bacon.
Sometimes wed drive to mildura which was a bigger town an hour away from robinvale, but it had MCDONALDSS!!!!! hahah oh and a cinema.
In general we didnt do much we had fun with our friends and worked to save money.
After three months our boss signed our 2nd year visa application form and we left.
