Hyggehejsa :)

Hello hello! :)
Yesterday we went to "Universal Studios Hollywood", which we both had looked very much forward to. We left around 10 o'clock and entered the park at 11. Even though it isn't high-season, there were a lot of people in the park, but we never waited for more than 15-20minutes at the attractions/rides.
The first thing we tried was "The House of Horror" - and it surely was. We entered dark rooms with elements from different horror movies, combined with real people dressed as monsters and making scary sounds, who jumped right in front of you when you least expected it. But I didn't know if I should be scared or laugh at seeing how scared Bang was - hehe!
When our legs stopped shaking, we wanted to try their newest ride, the "Minion Mayhem". I really like the Despicable Me films and I am in love with the minions, so this was a must. We put on minion goggles (3D glasses) og were now meant to be transformed into minions. This happened by sitting on these benches that moved and matched the movements we were seeing on the screen. Even though we physically didn't move very much, it felt so because of the 3D effect.
After lunch and a short "shower" for me, we saw a "Special Effects Show", which was very entertaining and fun. Afterwards we wanted to try the "Transformers" ride, which worked more or less in the same way as the minion mayhem. 3D glasses, well buckled in and off we went. This ride felt much wilder and afterwards we could feel our lunches moving strangely in our stomaches.
But we didn't go to Universal to miss out on anything, so obviously we had to check out "The Mummy" ride. This was a real rollercoaster, still indoor, but with great surroundings in mummy theme. The ride had speed, sudden stops, drops and all of a sudden we were doing the whole thing backwards. Now we seriously started to feel sick, so luckily or unfortunately the "Jurassic Park" ride was closed.
The next ride we wanted to try was "The Simpsons". This one didn't help our poor tummies either, on the contrary. Here as well we got to wear 3D glasses and were buckled in, in a wagon, meanwhile we got to ride an extreme rollercoaster, a 3D rollercoaster. It wasn't as bad as some of the others, but we knew we were done with these crazy rides. Thus we wanted to finish off with the famous "Universal Studio Tour".
This was a big experience. Driving around on a New York set, Europe set, Desperate Housewifes set, nearly being eaten by the "Jaws" shark, getting chased by a man with a knife (Hannibal), experiencing a San Francisco earthquake, seeing the waters part like in "Bruce the Almighty" and seeing a set with a retired Boeing 747 that looks like it has crashed (from War of the World).
But of course we were not that safe. On this tour, wearing 3D glasses, we experienced one the worlds biggest 3D projects. We witnessed how King Kong saved us from a couple of dinosaurs. Again we were shaked and so on. After this, we were done. It was nearly 17 o'clock and we had seen all we wanted, plus a little extra, so we decided to drive back to the hostel.
Back home we decided to go to "Griffith Observatory". It is a observatorium located in Griffith Park. We didn't enter the observatorium, but walked around it. From here you have a view of entire LA as well as the Hollywood sign that cannot be compared to anything. We were up there around sunset, so it was just perfect.
Today we were much luckier regarding getting a guided tour at the Dolby Theater. Even though it only lasted about half an hour, it made a great impression. We saw the lounge all the stars stand in prior to the show, the VIP loung, a real Oscar, the Oscar hosts dressing room and of course we got to stand on THE scene, where it all happens and look at all the stars, or the empty seats like today. Due to safety, we weren't allowed to take pictures at all.
Afterwards we walked to a park, where Bang saw Justin Bieber driving by in an expensive red car - she is 95% convinced that it was him :D The rest of the day we have relaxed, made plans for the coming days and enjoyed the heat. We have had approximately 35C degrees today and very warm sun shine, therefore the shaddow and cool drinks have been my best friends.
Tonight we had decided to eat a proper burger, thus we went to "Juicy burgers" and had a make-it-yourself burger with fries. Even though we ordered a small menu, we could have rolled back to the hostel. The most exciting thing though, was the drinks machine, which had 100 different things to choose from. I choose a Sprite Zero Rasberry - yummi :D
We have started to get used to Los Angeles/Hollywod time and rythm, so tomorrow the trip goes on further south in San Diego. Look forward to it, we surely do.
Some short facts:
Some people drive like crazy.
It is trendy to wear rather long fancy socks, even though you are wearing sneakers and shorts.
Despite there is a tattoo shop on every block, we haven't got one.....yet.
Our GPS is named Abby and the car Xing Xang Xung.
We they write that something is on "Floor 1", they mean ground floor.
People in the car next to you, can suddenly get the crazy idea to make cat sounds at you while waiting for green lights.
Goodnight from me from Hollywood! :)
