Our first leg of our UK stop was in Leyton Buzzard to visit with Alice. We stayed for a few days and enjoyed our walks and exploring of the "shires". One of our visits was to Oxford to visit the campus and town. The stories and the history that we learned as we strolled through the old buildings and colleges were awesome. Luckily we visited Oxford before Cambridge - as history goes you are not allowed to go from Cambridge to Oxford, only the other way around! From Alice's we traveled into London and found our hotel in Nottinghill. Taking the train into town, and then the tube to get to our hotel...never thought I would be several levels below the street...the tube is interesting for sure, but I prefer the cut and cover portion of their transit system.
In London we explored the Tower of London, Westminister Abbey, Buckingham Palace and many other historical locations. We spent a day visiting and walking with colleagues of Frank's, Marion and Vanessa. Our day was filled with stories of London, but also Frank at work...they were lovely to meet and we will hopefully see them again soon. On our final night we won the lottery...for tickets to Book of Mormon and ended up front row for the show. All in all our days in London were awesome and we will return in the future for sure.
