Here are a few of the riders and horses from the show! Very clever horses!!

We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the Republican Guard Spectacular! That's the group that is the ceremonial/security arm of the gendarmerie, which apparently only performs in this type of event 4 times a year. We got to see revolution style soldiers in formation and in traditional dress firing off their cannons and firearms!! Very LOUD!! Then the band came out and did their thing, and then the motor cyclists! All that was missing was the Dagwood dogs...

Today was a tourist day, and we did get to see some interesting things! After breakfast we set off for The Louvre. Stickman got a taxi, not keen to tackle the Metro at rush hour. We met up with him there and enjoyed a couple of hours wandering. Took the girls and Lachie to see the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Egyptian exhibition. Bwian was delighted to have an opportunity to say 'Mon dieu' when this Egyptian exhibit was missing!

'La Flamme' ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe was spectacular!! Much pomp and ceremony and our kids played fabulously along with the Scot's PGC Pipe & Drum Band and choir. All of our kids were involved, so that left a special job for Jacinta, Anthony and me!!! This was a BIG highlight for us and very special - see the next blog entry!!! All fabo!! Xx

Madeleine Church performance today. Again the kids were great and performed admirably. Quite an incredible venue to note on their CVs!! Lots of people on the audience, who were most appreciative of our musicians talents!
