19.04.05 Melbourne - neighbours! Lost around the city! Art Gallery, Chinese in St. Kilda with Silke & John. 18.04.05 Got up a bit later today - so tired from all the touring! Went into St. Kilda with 'Silke' my German friend. We got some bread and coffee (staple diet!) and ate on the beach. Getting a bit colder here tho - am struggling without my coat after it got drenched when I fell in the sea!! We caught the tram into Melbourne city (there are loads of trams here) and got some maps from the tourist office and bumped into John - another mate from the tour. So the 3 of us spent the day wandering around Melbourne centre and looking in all the different shops and stuff. Walked by the MCG and the Rod Laver arena which was cool and saw Parliament House and others on the city centre tram circle. We wound up at the Crown Casino as it was getting dark - an amazing place! Full of shops and restaurants. Every hour, there are stone towers which shoot up flames into the sky! So we waited for that which was really cool. Went into the Italian area for dinner - got all you can eat pasta & pizza! Sooo full. Then later in the evening we went to 'The Esplanade' - a famous venue in St Kilda for live bands. Music wasn't bad! Drum & Bass, but not bad! 19.04.05 Got up earlier to make the most of my last full day in Melbourne. Went for breakfast with Silke and we went into the city together. After getting the route from the tourist centre, I hopped on a tram and a bus for the mission of a ride to 'Pinoak Court' - aka Ramsay Street! Took a few photos and met some people who're gonna be on my tour to Sydney! Random. Got the bus back to the city and went to see the Kylie exhibition at the Art Centre - complete with the dress from 'I can't get you out of my head' video! Then I wandered into the Art Museum to look cultured and actually saw some chairs that I remember looking at in Art History! Then spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the shops again and getting lost!
