Hello from Berlin (apparently STA don't do pictures of Germany, hence Tower Bridge). Did some hard-core backpacking to get here, overnight train (with a change, which we aced), just a seat to save money and arrived in Berlin at 04:53 this morning. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time. Whatever the knack is for sleeping on trains we don't have it, and so have wimped out and reserved bunks for Mondays train. Arrived in Europe today, didn't get lost and the airline didn't lose our baggage! Got the train (double decker!) from the airport to Amsterdam Centraal. Found the Hotel (Hotel Brian) amazingly quickly considering it's us and all Amsterdam looks the same! Went for a wander, succesfully pissed off the entire cycling population of Holland by failing to stop for any kind of road/cycle paths (they're the same colour as the pavements, honest) and saw a few sights.
