Another day of game drives. Saw lions feeding at a zebra carcass, but couldn't get close enough for a great view. Stacks of giraffe, elephant, wildebeest, ostrich, zebra, secretary birds, bustards and guinea fowl. Really want to see some big cats up close now. Going to get up at 3am and walk to the watering hole to see if we can catch something amazing there.

Etosha seems a pretty poor area. Many beggars. Did our first bush drive. Saw an abundance of zebra, giraffe, elephant, oryx, springbok, kudu and jackals. Campsite is set in 20,000 square km national park. At a floodlit waterhole we saw giraffes, elephants and rhinos all drinking together. Amazing! Game stew for dinner was fantastic. Journeyed up to Cape Cross Seal sanctuary. Thousands of seals on the beaches....the smell was too much for some. Traveled on to Spitzkoppe to see some ancient bushmen rock paintings on an Ayers Rock feel backdrop. Campsite was stunning against these giant red outcrops. Cold wind at night. Freezing in the morning.

In a hostel for 2 nights. Welcome break to putting up tents. Bunkbeds, but comfy! Had a group night out on the town and ate some Zebra meat. Back on the road tomorrow. Our truck has dodgy suspension but is hopefully being fixed soon. Rickety old windows!

Up at 5 for a tour of a huge sand dune...could have been in the UAE! saw some ancient dried up lakes with 900 year old trees in. Drove further north and had apple pie in a cafe which produces 200kg of pie per day. Found out that Amy Winehouse had died from an Afrikans poster. Got to new campsite in off a remote road. Inspiring local guide took us off into the country and we saw zebra at sunset. Had a few drinks and a load of laughs around the campfire.
